“Commitment to Destination Tourism Quality” (Integral System for Quality in Tourism in Spain as a Destination , SICTED) Awards.

The councillor for Tourism of the City Council of Torrevieja, Fanny Serrano, accompanied by the Regional Secretary for Tourism, Francesc Colomer, presented the “Commitment to Destination Tourism Quality” (SICTED) Awards to 40 companies from the city, in an act held at the Centre for Tourism of Torrevieja this morning.

This act recognises the work of these companies for their dedication and effort in the commitment to quality, having passed the training, counselling and evaluation required in order to receive an award within this Quality System.

The councillor Fanny Serrano was responsible for inaugurating the act and took the opportunity to thank all the companies receiving the award for the effort they make: “I know how difficult it is and that is why I am so thrilled that you take tourism quality in Torrevieja so seriously and that together you make our city a better place for receiving our visitors”, she said. She also thanked Mr. Colomer for his presence and his “constant support” for all the actions relating to tourism carried out in Torrevieja.

After the presentation ceremony the “2nd SICTED Torrevieja Tourism Quality Solidarity Meeting” was held. During the lunch offered by Turisme Comunitat Valenciana for the SICTED award winners, the Torrevieja companies took the opportunity to make a donation to a charitable action. Specifically, the amount of 411 euros raised will be used for the purchase of a crane valued at 1,000 euros.
